REINTEGRATING INTO SOCIETY
We work with the incarcerated and their families as they make the transition towards family reconciliation and forgiveness. We provide counselling, financial assistance and family life education to enable them to overcome shame, rejection, suspicion and discrimination and start life anew.
Family Programme, an initiative by the Singapore Prison Service, consists of a series of workshops where inmates learn about self-discovery, better communication with family members and managing change. It also facilitates family sessions with loved ones to prepare inmates for their return to their homes and the community.
Using events, celebrations and workshops, we encourage the inmates’ families to gather and bond as a family while finding solace with the community.
The support groups (male ex-inmates/ female ex-inmates / wives & mothers of inmates) facilitated by professionals meet fortnightly to share their journey, encourage one another and learn coping strategies within the group.

Instead of travelling to the prison facility, families and loved ones can register with Prison Link Centre (Jurong) to book a televisit session at Lakeside’s Taman Jurong office to connect with their loved ones in prison. The tele-conference facility provides a safe and conducive environment, especially for families with young children.
Our Tuition Plus programme is conducted weekly by experienced tutors and volunteers to give the children of inmates a better chance at succeeding in school.
The Voice ‘R’ Us (TVC) was set up to help the children cope with the grief and loss of having their parents being separated from them due to incarceration.
