YOUTH WORK

Our youth work is supported by our dedicated Social Workers, Counsellors and Programme Executives under our two teams; Youth Services and Agape Inspires.

Youth-a-Life helps rehabilitate at-risk youths aged 13 – 19 who have committed offences, or are at risk of doing so, as well as reducing at-risk tendencies.

Agape Inspires conducts preventive and developmental youth work. Through mentoring and service-learning, youths build life-transforming relationships and make community contributions.

Both teams share a common goal to mould and transform youths in their character, confidence, competence, connection and caring qualities to contribute to their community.

Expedition Agape transforms and empowers the lives of teenagers through intentional mentoring by volunteers, and a structured programme over 6 months developing the participants as “Leaders in Action”.

As part of the journey, the team serves and makes a difference to local and overseas communities in need. Since 2008, Expedition Agape is a platform for self-discovery, leadership development, and lifetime mentoring relationships to be built.

Join us to invest in the dreams of the youths, and shape the next generation either as a Programme Planner or Befriender / Mentor!

Youth Corps Singapore has appointed Lakeside Family Services as a community partner to mentor and develop youths to serve the community.

We mentored youths to design, develop and implement more than 13 projects to serve a diversity of causes, including children, youths, families, and the seniors. Some of these projects include:

  • Stars Kids – A values-based arts, sports and enrichment programme to serve children aged 5 to 9 years old in the Nanyang (Jurong West) community
  • Cent$ible – A comprehensive financial programme specially for children and parents, with a matched savings programme to inculcate the habit of saving in our lower-income families at Lakeside Family Services (Bukit Merah)
  • Community Garden – Setting up a community garden and interest group for our active seniors as a platform for bonding and engagement

If you are between 15 to 35 years old, you can also sign up as a volunteer through Youth Corps Singapore!

Youth-Serve provides mentoring, training and support for students to develop the knowledge, heart and skills to be community change makers. By serving the community, students can make a meaningful and sustainable impact.

To develop thoughtful leaders who have empathy, kindness and gratitude, we take a unique, strengths-based and experiential approach to cultivate their social and emotional competencies. We emphasise the students’ personal growth and development of teamwork.
